Overview
A-Level Mathematics follows the Edexcel Specification and includes both Pure and Applied Mathematics topics. Students following this course experience a wide range of concepts including Calculus, Trigonometry, Statistics and Mechanics. The skills they develop through this course help with problem solving and logical thinking.
Higher attaining students have the opportunity to study Further Mathematics A-Level. This course studies more complex topics and is good preparation for degree level mathematics or for students who enjoy the rigour and beauty of the challenge of mathematics.
We are also offering ‘Maths in context’, often referred to as ‘Core’ Maths. It is a Level 3 course and explores maths skills in a real life context. It supports students doing other A-Levels including biology, geography and psychology.
