1st place wins for QPHS Rowing Club

Queen's Park High School rowers are once again celebrating after a succession of wins at Northwich Autumn Head last weekend.

The Rowing event is a timed race over 2350m on the River Weaver.

The early 7.30am start did not deter the Year 9 Single Scullers and saw James Cox soaring to victory, winning his category by a massive 30 second margin!

Zara in Year 11 came second, narrowly missing out on first place by a mere 1.5 seconds!

It was good news for both Gwilym and Harrison who achieved two victories: winning first place in the j18 double and recognised as the fastest boat of the day with their two team mates from Northwich Rowing Club.

Other wins came from Year 9 students Dylan and Iestyn in the j14 double, Zara and Kiera from Year 11 in the j16 double and notably the j14 quad which comprised Tyler, Josh H, Joe and Josh W with Year 8 student Luke Harris coxing.

All the QPHSRC crews that competed ranked extremely well; reaching third and fourth placing between them. Congratulations to all involved who consistently demonstrate their determination, endurance and commitment to the sport and strive to be the best they can be.
