Christmas Jumper Day

Support Christmas Jumper day and your local food bank on Monday 13th December 2021

Christmas Jumper Day

On Monday 13th December, we are holding our annual Christmas Jumper Day in support of The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. This will be a festive themed non-uniform day where students are required to come to school in a Christmas jumper or with a Christmas theme to their attire in exchange for a minimum £1 donation to the charity. Donations can be made via Parentmail.

Clothing guidance

Whilst we do not expect students to wear their school uniform on this day, we do expect them to add some festive attire and clothing should be appropriate for school, thereby adhering to the guidance below:

Clothing should be ‘smart casual’ and the following are not deemed to be appropriate for school:

  • Revealing tops or skirts
  • Hot pants (short shorts – including with tights)
  • Bare midriffs
  • Offensive slogans
  • Hoods, caps or hats worn inside school (Santa hats or similar being the exception of course!)

As it's the season of giving, we can't think of a better way to spread the spirit of Christmas than to support our local food bank, as we have done in previous years. We are encouraging all our students to bring in food donations and share a gift of kindness to those local people in crisis this Christmas.

We want to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry this Christmas, but we need our staff and students help to make this happen. With our support and gifts of food, we can make a real difference. West Cheshire Food Bank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, that work to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

On Monday we are encouraging our staff and students to support our drive to help those in need this Christmas and bring to school non-perishable food items which we will collect on entry and then donate to our local Food Bank.

A list of the most needed items for the West Cheshire food bank is shown below:

Items most needed in December

  • Tinned meats
  • UHT milk
  • UHT Juice
  • Tinned dessers
  • Custard
  • Treats (ie. small vas of chocolates/bags of sweets, crisps)
  • Instant coffee (small jars)
  • Jams and spreads
  • Instant mash/tinned potatoes
  • Pasta sauce
  • Biscuits(other non-perishable items will also be accepted)

Any donations will be greatly received – it would be fantastic if we could beat the 363.6Kg total that we managed to donate last year!

Thank you for any support which you feel you are able to offer in these challenging times.
