Background Information

The school is situated in a pleasant residential area, close to the heart of the historic city of Chester with an abundance of playing fields and access to the river Dee. It offers a good, broad and exciting education preparing children academically and socially for the 21st century.

The school has a reputation for excellence in Science, Mathematics and ICT also incorporating a specialist Visual Arts College with a nationally renowned reputation. We have outstanding ICT facilities and well planned specialist teaching areas throughout the school. The school has a strong tradition of exceptional results at sixth form level.

We have an Open Day once per term and taster days for Years 5/6 students during June/July, and accepts students from across West Cheshire, Flintshire and Wrexham. It is situated close to the city centre, is user friendly for parents working in the city and is close to the business park, and is well served by bus and rail links. Those who visit and join us from further away are always impressed. Over £3.5 million has been spent on the building during the last few years. The prestigious 1911 building is now a very modern and exciting 21st century learning environment with state of the art ICT facilities throughout the school.
