Queen's Park High School Rowing Club

1

QPHSRC

Welcome to the club’s new home page. We are one of only four rowing clubs in the country that are attached to a state secondary school. We aim to provide pupils from Queen's Park High School with the opportunity to represent their school, region and country in regattas and head races. However while we have supplied rowers for national and international competitions we also offer the facility for students to take part in recreational rowing on one of the best rowing rivers in the country.

2 We are run on an entirely voluntary basis throughout the year and are supported by regional members of British Rowing. Training is offered throughout the year both during term time and the holiday periods, in order to ensure that those people in competition have the same level of preparation as their competitors. The coaching staff have accumulated a huge amount of experience with the more senior coaches working at the club for up to 25 years.

While we are a sculling club we do have the expertise to guide students into sweep oar rowing allowing them to continue to progress into university rowing. The staff are confident that this is one of the best clubs in the North West both due to the members and the commitment of those involved in the club. Rowing is one of the greatest sports with some great Olympic heritage within the UK. If you are interested please log in the members area to learn more about what the club offers, training schedules and recent events.
